Halo Reach now available for free through Games With Gold

Halo Reach is now available to download for free as part of the Xbox Games With Gold programme.

For the first two weeks in September Xbox 360 owners were able to download Monaco: What's Yours is Mine as part of Games With Gold, but this has now been replaced with Halo Reach for the remainder of the month.

Xbox One owners can currently download Super Time Force and Crimson Dragon for free for the rest of September.

Bungie's fifth and final Halo game put players in control of Noble Six, a member of an elite squad of soldiers tasked with protecting the human world Reach from attack by the Covenant.

Games With Gold was launched on Xbox One in June. A single Gold membership provides owners with access to the free games for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, although the service differs on the two consoles in one important way. On Xbox 360, users are still granted access to free game downloads even if their subscription lapses, but on Xbox One users are required to maintain their subscription in order to access freely downloaded games.

When the advert was shown on the Xbox dashboard, I was surprised that it was added to the Games With Gold programme seeing as it was quite the popular game. It is good that Microsoft are continually including newer, more popular games. As for the programme on Xbox One, sure the games will not be as great as those provided on the Xbox 360, but give it some time and some higher quality games will become available.

I'm pretty happy with this even though I already have reach. its probably my favourite fps game and it would get a bit lonely sometimes in matchmaking cause no one would be online. Now theres definitely more players which means I'm gonna have to teach them a lesson in reach ;)

Eh, most Halo fans will tell you Halo 3 is the best, but I honestly can't play it. Halo 4 is pretty fun though.

NBC They are actually coming out with some decent games with gold lately. I wish they would do CoD 4 because that would re-populate the game.


Yeah agreed plus nearly all matches are full with r2r modders so hopefully if they did cod 4 i can play some legit games
