Destiny devs nix player-to-player item trades

4.5
In its latest Destiny update, developer Bungie makes it absolutely clear that players will not be able to swap weapons and gear within the open-universe first-person shooter.

A fan asked Bungie if player-to-player trades will be available at Destiny's launch and was met with a succinct denial. "Nope. We want you to earn 'em," Bungie stated. "You should be able to tell a badass story for every sweet jewel in your arsenal." Though trades between players will be lacking from the game, Bungie does note that players can trade items between their own characters. "Once you earn them, the various Guardians under your account will be able to trade them, but weapons belong to the players who acquire them through action and bravery."

If you're now grumbling in frustration, have a look at Sony's official unboxing of the white Destiny PlayStation 4 bundle below the break. It's not a replacement for a proper, player-run economy, but maybe watching the birth of a new gadget will take your mind off of things.

honestly i like this idea. if borderlands did the same thing i might of got some more time out of it. instead i decided to get modded weapons and shields and it took the fun out of the game :(.

Ortho That's a cool feature to include

What are you smoking? how is that a feature wtf >.> post wh*ring right there yo.

OT: This is good and bad, it might stop people with modded weapons making the game crappy by giving everyone modded weps.

I meant it would have been cool to include lol, missed one word

Tbh I like this idea maybe it could stop some players having powerful weapons without actually doing anything to earn it.

It makes sence because of modding, and glitches i wish that they could have kept it in

While I understand their decision for this, they still should've included it in the game. Like make it so you can only give items to players at your level or a few above/below it.

It would have been cool to see, but I agree with what Bungie is saying. I'd rather people see my character and know that I spent time on building him up and getting the rare items I have, and not have that "oh he probably traded for those" doubt.
