1080p for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? Wait and see, says dev

4.5
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer Games is not yet ready to say what resolution the game will be running at when it hits store shelves in November.

Speaking to OXM, producer Mike Mejia said that the studio is happy with where it is right now but continue to work on improving it.

“So we’re 60 frames a second all the way,” he said. “We are not talking about the – we’re still waiting for announcements to come out in terms of where we’re at with the resolutions, but I can tell you that the three year development title that we’ve had, working with everyone involved to make sure that we’re getting it right… we’re still optimising the game, but even with where we’re at right now, we’re really happy.

“We’re ahead of where we were last year, and we still have time, we still have a couple of months to go.”

Mejia also touched on the extra power provided to Xbox One developers following the June SDK update.

“All that stuff is all coming online too, as we talk to all the first-party partners that we have – we have a direct connection to those guys, so all that stuff is coming online now. I know we’re working with everyone, we’re working with Sony, we’re working with Microsoft, we’re really happy with what we’re looking at.”

Do you think we’re going to have a similar resolutiongate situation with this year’s Call of Duty like we did with Ghosts?

Inq I dont mind whatever quality it is tbh

I do. I would much rather the quality be higher rather than lower.

But graphics don't make the game.

Yeah like mates try say oh on ps4 we have 1080p and i just think it looks the same i dont really see a difference tbh

Its more of the case that if a system is struggling to run a current game at 1080p (which isnt even a next gen resolution), will it struggle in a few years time when graphics get pushed to the limit. I mean, look how far xbox 360s went as to graphics.

Yeah well i heard xbox one will have 4K

No the xbone cant not run a game at 4K it is way to weak, even the PS4 wont play games at 4K

Knih A game can be 720p for me, as long as its HD, I don't mind. Graphics don't make the game good, especially when 99% of people can't tell the different between 720p and 1080p.

TBH its pretty easy to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. There are 1296000 more pixels in 1080p and 720p.

It would be nice having 1080p Call of Duty.
