Microsoft releases Xbox One controller drivers for PC

4.6
Microsoft has released a set of drivers that enable Xbox One controller support for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows PCs.

The Xbox One controller works with any game that currently features support for the Xbox 360 controller. After installing Microsoft's drivers, players can immediately start using the Xbox One controller in compatible games and apps by connecting it via a micro USB cable.

Native controller support will be featured in a future Windows update, but Microsoft notes that it wanted to push out updated drivers as soon as possible in order to let users "play their favorite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made."

Sanctorum I don't understand the point in this. Without a keyboard and mouse, it wouldn't feel like PC gaming. Sure, you get the better graphics and ease of control with an actual controller but personally, I just find it better to use a mouse and keyboard. Meh.

keyboard and mouse are used for FPS games. controller is better for everything else.

Um no...just no. Keyboard and mouse is better in almost every game with a few exceptions. You CANNOT play a MOBA with a controller. Please understand what you are saying before posting.
ok have fun playing RPG games or action games or platformer games with mouse and keyboard.

P.S. i know more than you so yeah ;).

There are way more RPGs on PC than consoles. Even the ones on console work better with a keyboard and mouse. Of course there are a handfull of exceptions like Dark Souls, but most work better if not just flat out need a keyboard and mouse. Platformers can be played about the same on both keyboard and controller. Most can be played with one hand. Again, please know what you are talking about before posting.

rpg games like open-world ones. and yes i know what i'm talking about. you on the other hand maybe try using Google for your information :p.

RPG games whether they be open world, MMO, even the few grand strategy RPG games like CK2 are better with keyboard and mouse. It is just fact. As for keybinds do you know how many buttons a keyboard has? Your entire keyboard is customizable to how you want to play. Using a controller merely restricts you. Don't worry you will eventually come to senses with your console peasantry soon enough. May I suggest visiting reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace

also for platformer games i'm assuming you're talking about side-scrolling ones. yes those can be used on PC and consoles. but the ones i'm talking about are more suited to controllers.

there are literally so many keybinds for most other games that using keyboard and mouse is inefficient. someone with a controller would easily out perform you.

The only difference that I like is in 3rd person and racing games, and being able to kick back and lay on my bed and play in front of my tv rather than my **** hard **** chair.

Solution: Buy a chair that isn't hard. ie: Computer chair

MOBA and RTS I don't think so.

those games are fit into the same type of games as wow, dota, lol, etc. of course keyboard and mouse is efficient on those games :p.

That would be really neat to connect it to a tablet like the one in the photo. I wonder if they will release a wireless adapter so you don't have to use the wired connection like they did with the Xbox 360.

CyberPunk I dont get why so many are saying "YAY il get a controller just for this" You do realise PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers work on PC anyway... Just a usb connection , heck even Play and charge kits let you use a wireless 360 controller and theyre dirty cheap second hand or even new now :S

Play n Charge kits don't work, the cable is single ended and doesn't transfer any data. And why? The new controllers are improved a lot and people would rather use the new ones than the old ones. I know I do.

mines worked with play n charge , if not that they lil usb wireless adapters are like 5 online , and it aint all about whats prefered just what works most of the time or more available usually :)

you're full of crap though man
