Dark Souls now free through Xbox Live Games with Gold

4.8
The Xbox 360 version of Dark Souls is now free to download for Xbox Live Gold subscribers as part of the Games with Gold offering.

Weighing in at 3.81 GB, the title is normally priced at £14.99 / $19.99 on Microsoft's digital marketplace.

June's Xbox 360 Games with Gold offering will also include free Charlie Murder and Super Street Fighter IV downloads, from the 16th-30th of the month.

Games with Gold will launch on Xbox One later this month with Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault.

A single Gold membership will provide owners with access to the free games for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, although the service will differ on the two consoles in one important way. On Xbox 360, users are still granted access to free game downloads even if their subscription lapses, but on Xbox One, users will be required to maintain their subscription in order to access freely downloaded games.

Microsoft will no longer gate entertainment apps behind a Gold subscription following a June system update. It will offer a refund to current subscribers who no longer wish to use the service in light of the upcoming changes.

lnfinite Never played this game. Going to get this just for the achievements! Heard it was an alright game!

I played it for 3 hours. That was by far one of the most irritating times of my life, if you go in thinking "oh I'm sure I won't die as much as everyone makes it out to be", you are severely mistaken. I went looking for a church bell for a good hour and a half walking around killing things as best I could, when I found a church the priest and about 20 hollows swarmed me and killed me. I went back to kill them all only to find out later that there was no bell in that building at all.

There is a bell, you just didnt get far enough, theres a ladder you take up which leads you to the area boss then to the bell once their dead. The game is hard, but not deceiving when it comes to instructions.

Anyway I recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenge. I got the game last year and I'm just now about ready to fight the final boss in NG+. Praise the Sun.
