Microsoft has pushed out new firmware to those signed up to the Xbox One update preview programme.

The update, which is likely to be released to the general public in the coming weeks, introduces a number of tweaks to the console's party chat functionality and system update ability.

The changes make the 'Get System Update' button greyed out when a new update is not available, and changes the button to say 'update console' when an update is released.

The update also addresses issues that would cause Party Chat to be quiet unless the Party App was snapped.

Microsoft will also add an opt-in speech data collection campaign which it will use to improve the responsiveness of voice commands using Kinect. This will be turned on in the console's Privacy & Online Safety menu.

The update follows a series of broader changes in April, including improvements to Friends and the console's user interface.
