Xbox One update beta fixes party chat issue

Microsoft has pushed out new firmware to those signed up to the Xbox One update preview programme.

The update, which is likely to be released to the general public in the coming weeks, introduces a number of tweaks to the console's party chat functionality and system update ability.

The changes make the 'Get System Update' button greyed out when a new update is not available, and changes the button to say 'update console' when an update is released.

The update also addresses issues that would cause Party Chat to be quiet unless the Party App was snapped.

Microsoft will also add an opt-in speech data collection campaign which it will use to improve the responsiveness of voice commands using Kinect. This will be turned on in the console's Privacy & Online Safety menu.

The update follows a series of broader changes in April, including improvements to Friends and the console's user interface.

This is really good that they are fixing, changing, and improving a lot of their basic interfaces. I really think that the Xbox One is a lot more difficult to navigate compared to the 360, the 360 was simpler but it didn't have all the technical features of the Xbox One. If they just organize it better then it will be really good. These months updates are really doing good for the overall experience.

I hope they fix the party chat with this. Feels like they've said it before. They just need to simplify the party char system just like the 360 party chat.

Kixa This is why i hate betas i rather wait for the full update to come out.

BETAs fix problems for the real update. BETAs are a good thing!

Beta is basically a TEST to see if there's any bugs. They then go ahead and fix them, then release a new update.

Hence Why are you guys b*tching about Microsoft bringing out beta updates? If you are not in the program, you do not have to worry about anything. A beta update will improve the official beta by reducing the bugs / glitches and complains from customers.

My thoughts exactly, if you don't want beta updates you shouldn't have signed up for it in the first place!
