Resistance MP servers going offline for good on April 8th

It was previously reported that the multiplayer for Resistance: Fall of Man would be taken offline on March 28th but it's death has been delayed until April 8th for now. On April 3rd many Insomniac employees hopped back online to play the aging title with fans as one last hurrah, Resistance: Fall of Man launched on the PS3 in November of 2003 as a system launch title.

Why does it say that it launched on November of 2003, when the PS3 was released in like 2006?

On another note, it's sad to see that the servers are going down. But, you gotta understand, that the game has been around ever since the PS3 came out.
