GameSpy finally fading into the dark on May 31

3.7
GameSpy Technologies is sadly shutting down their online matchmaking service used via their middleware in over a 1,000 games. The company first was created as a Quake server search program way back in 1996 but quickly branched out to support online play for hundreds of console and PC games. Their list of publishing partners include Activision, Electronic Arts, Capcom, Sega, and Nintendo; all games affected by this are forced to migrate their online play to SteamWorks or cease their title's multiplayer functionality. GameSpy ceased producing editorial content last year but continued their matchmaking middleware backbone infrastructure following their purchase by mobile game publisher Glu Mobile in 2012.

You can do better than this TTG.

I understand that's it's 100% done on May 31st, but at least include when the original article was posted so we can all laugh :3

-This was meant in good fun.-

You want some Savlon? For that buuurn?

Savlon contains oils, putting oil on ANY kind of burn will make it alot worse ;)
cold compress and blister packs are best :P

Event This sucks for the people who were interested in it..

Haha, nobody liked Gamespy or ever did.

That would be your opinion not a fact. Gamespy was great service up until the past few years where steam picked up the slack and pretty much took over. Gamespy was the place back in the day for looking up cheats. That's where I had found all the cheats for AoE 2.

What games does this affect?
