Microsoft reads blogger's email to determine Windows 8 leak

4.8
On Wednesday a former Microsoft software architect, Alex Kibkalo was arrested and charged for stealing trade secrets from the company. He was suspended from his current employer, 5nine Software pending final results of his FBI investigation. His arrest is related to the previous Windows 8 leaks, he handed the information to a french blogger who went on to attempt verification with Microsoft itself. This was when the company snooped into the blogger's email and determined his source. One would assume when you went to verify the claims via email with a company you wouldn't use one they own.

How do you feel about Microsoft violating the blogger's privacy regarding this matter?

He deserved what he got. You do the crime and you pay the consequences.

Miss I feel like what they did was wrong. I don't think they should have been allowed to read his emails. If anyone is being investigated, it should be MS.

So they found out he was Leaking info to his blog doing a Federal crime, but using a service they own to do it Really? They didn't look at his emails till he started leaking stuff. Microsoft did nothing wrong.

Lots of companies make their employees sign things so they will not release confidential information about new products or plans.
