Microsoft reads blogger's email to determine Windows 8 leak

4.8
On Wednesday a former Microsoft software architect, Alex Kibkalo was arrested and charged for stealing trade secrets from the company. He was suspended from his current employer, 5nine Software pending final results of his FBI investigation. His arrest is related to the previous Windows 8 leaks, he handed the information to a french blogger who went on to attempt verification with Microsoft itself. This was when the company snooped into the blogger's email and determined his source. One would assume when you went to verify the claims via email with a company you wouldn't use one they own.

How do you feel about Microsoft violating the blogger's privacy regarding this matter?

Lia I find it funny how Microsoft "snooped into the bloggers emails", isn't that a privacy crime?

Not when a criminal act is involved. Yes snooping is illegal and when I repair people's PC's I have to check their files. It is imperative I do not acknowledge anything if they are legal, but the minute I were to see something of an illegal nature, I would be forced to inform the authorities. Of course if they were snooping in an email and found nothing then I would render that as an invasion of privacy.
