Project Morpheus revealed by Sony at GDC

PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida has officially revealed the PS4's virtual reality headset currently codenamed "Project Morpheus" at GDC late yesterday. Yoshida brought an end to months of rumors about the supposed device when he formally announced the device. The currently released technical specifications can be found below with further official comments.

'Social Screen feature' mirrors experience onto TV (Allows for unique asymmetric gameplay)

Supports 'forward prediction'

Rin This looks way better than the Oculus Rift. Now we have to expect Microsoft to make one.


I think microsoft has prob been testing with them the last couple years like sony. But it seems sony beat them to announcing it.


MS still had the illumiroom project in development last time I checked, they said they had it running great but were unhappy with the cost and size of the unit so it might still appear if they can adjust those things.

Look on youtube for it, personally I'd much prefer that than walking into walls with a vr headset.


They scrapped illumiroom for production. It was to costly for consumers, sadly illumiroom is done.

No this is not how the headset looks like however I can re-assure you that it is quite neat and eye catchy :) just google Project Morpheus and you will see it
