Flappy Bird has stopped flapping

4.3
Flappy Bird has officially stopped flapping, it has been removed from both the Apple and Play stores when it appears the developer, Dong Nguyen, has a nervous breakdown over it's success claiming it was "ruining his life".

It is assumed that Dong will NOT be fulfilling his claim of porting Flappy Bird to Windows Phones.

Prior to Dong ceasing his Twitter presence he stated that the attention he had received stemming from his game coupled with the "stress of making $50k a day" were among the reasons he had pulled the game.

How do those who played Flappy Birds feel about this entire ordeal?

ORL_MAGIC I actually have some respect for this guy. Instead of caring about the money he took it down for the better of himself. Now maybe the whole stress thing is ******** but if not I like that he did it. I mean, I doubt many people will delete it no matter how much they hate it. So he still will get revenue consider its all ad based revenue. And to the people saying he copied all of these other ios games. Just stop. I mean yes he clearly ripped off mario world. Thats a given. But its not illegal unless he actually stole the image designs. Also if you want to say it was a rip off from jetpack joyride, then you would have to say it was also a rip off from temple run. Same concept, get as far as possible. Saying he ripped off those games is like saying he ripped off other games like the impossible game, just because they are 2d and they are a test to see how far you can get. I also have more respect because now I don't have to walk down the hallways in school and hear at least one person say "flappy bird".

He no longer receives revenue from the game. Once it is deleted, it has no more ties with him and ads are disabled.

Seems silly considering all the money he was making

I think this mainly effected him in the way that it took away his big break as a devoloper. This game was obviously just a lucky game that was successful, but surely he must have imagined the game that changed his life alot would be a good one and not such a simple one, which I can imagine being dissapointing.

Australians Wtf? I'm still playing it haha, anyone else still able to play it? lol

Those who have already downloaded the game are still able to play just don't delete it or else you won't be able to get it back, it's only the download link that has been stopped

Oh all good, I wonder if he will still be making money, I reckon it was a poor decision to stop people from downloading it.

What so millions of people could send him hate mail? Great. That kind of stress is unparalleled.

it probably has to do with the fact the game was badly made and and everything about it is a total rip off of previous games. gameplay from those "helicopter games" and "jet back joy ride", art style blatantly copied from Mario. Probably couldn't handle people critizing his work and saying its bad. Hopefully he can make something more original in the future.

The thing I don't understand is how this affected his everyday life. It wasn't like everywhere he went people recognized him as the Flappy Bird creator. On the internet, I am sure he saw it everywhere but he should of been proud of what he created, a good feeling not a bad one, everyone adored the app he made.
