Xbox One led December's U.S. console hardware sales with 908,000 units

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One was the best selling console in December in the U.S. The company revealed that, according to figures from the NPD Group, the Xbox One sold 908,000 units in the U.S. during the last month of 2013. Microsoft announced in early January that it sold over 3 million units worldwide by the end of 2013. Microsoft had previously said that the Xbox One sold 909,132 units in November in the U.S., which means that the console sold 1,817,132 units just in the U.S. in the last few weeks of the year.

Microsoft's blog added that the eight year old Xbox 360 managed to sell 643,000 units in December, which put it at the number three spot on NPD's sales list. The combined sales of both consoles claimed 46 percent of the U.S. console hardware market in December. The amount of money spent on Xbox hardware, software and accessories reached $1.39 billion in December in the U.S.

According to Gamesindustry International, overall retail game sales in the U.S. went up two percent to $3.28 billion. Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4 were the number one and two best selling games in December, according to NPD. For 2013 as a whole, retail game sales (hardware, software and accessories) were down two percent to $12.97 billion in the U.S. and that Grand Theft Auto V was the best selling game of the year.

Pens The Xbox one will catch it up, but this is nothing compared to ps4

Never to the PS4, unless there is a miraculous turn of events and it does, but I doubt it.

The only reason the PS4 is has sold more consoles World wide is because it is available in way more countries but this statistic shows that the U.S. still has more people buying the xbox One despite the price difference which is sad to say for PS4 which is $100 less.

Or because you could find them literally everywhere, Most people I know who bought the Xbone only bought it because they couldn't find a PS4 and sold it after they got their PS4's...

Why wouldn't your friends just wait lol?
