Why a realistic Los Santos in GTA 5 would be unconvincing

4.5
One amazing aspect of both last year’s Grand Theft Auto V and its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto IV, were the size, scope, and detail of each game’s cities

In a recent interview with Edge, Rockstar North Art Director Aaron Garbut commented on the process of building a city, and how it precludes the developers from actually creating a 100% replica of the real thing. “I’d never want to rebuild a city. I think that would be a lot less satisfying both for us to build and for the player to play. In a lot of ways, it would be less convincing, too. At least that’s how I rationalise it to myself,” Mr. Garbut explained, “we take the feel of a city, the one we get through visiting and through experiencing it our whole lives through media, and build that. We compress, we edit, we emphasise certain things and we end up with something that in some ways, I think, feels more like the popular perception of the place than the actual city. Only because the popular perception isn’t the real city, if that makes sense.”

Grand Theft Auto V was developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games on September 17th, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Grand Theft Auto Online launched on October 1st, 2013.

The game is great! But the online not so much... Personally I love the game, I love the map, just about everything about the game is awesome!

I wish they would remake San Andreas for the Xbox one as the 10 year aniversity in this October

ODI I love this game. But it would have been a smarter choice to rebuild the GTA: SA Map. That was the best map made, and always will be. Hopefully they remake GTA SA Soon.

that's pretty much what they did with this game. they essentially remade sa.

Craigyy They should've ditched the Mp and extended the SP.

other way around for me, most of the time i spend on gta is online with mates, makes it so much more entertaining

GTA is for SP if they ditched single player then it wouldn't be GTA. Online sucks a bunch of Modders and cheating **** who like to buy tanks and destroy eveything. GTA: SP is better than MP that has to be the dumbest idea getting rid of single player..

I love this game. Reality is not what we go for in games. We go for fun. I like fun games not real games

Bruv Best game of 2012 in my opinion.

I also think it was one of if not the best game of 2013 in terms of the single player aspect. I personally thought GTA Online was lacking though
