Why a realistic Los Santos in GTA 5 would be unconvincing

4.5
One amazing aspect of both last year’s Grand Theft Auto V and its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto IV, were the size, scope, and detail of each game’s cities

In a recent interview with Edge, Rockstar North Art Director Aaron Garbut commented on the process of building a city, and how it precludes the developers from actually creating a 100% replica of the real thing. “I’d never want to rebuild a city. I think that would be a lot less satisfying both for us to build and for the player to play. In a lot of ways, it would be less convincing, too. At least that’s how I rationalise it to myself,” Mr. Garbut explained, “we take the feel of a city, the one we get through visiting and through experiencing it our whole lives through media, and build that. We compress, we edit, we emphasise certain things and we end up with something that in some ways, I think, feels more like the popular perception of the place than the actual city. Only because the popular perception isn’t the real city, if that makes sense.”

Grand Theft Auto V was developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games on September 17th, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Grand Theft Auto Online launched on October 1st, 2013.

-CP I just want a bigger map and whatnot.

You still don't think the map is big enough ? y u make no sense

I think the map was plenty big for Grand Theft Auto V. I would of much liked the option to travel to other regions though

Plug should be a bigger map and maybe more things to do, idk still a great game

Because it's not like this map is over 3x the size of GTA IV's map or anything....

ODI I love this game. But it would have been a smarter choice to rebuild the GTA: SA Map. That was the best map made, and always will be. Hopefully they remake GTA SA Soon.

that's pretty much what they did with this game. they essentially remade sa.

The maps are almost completely different, other than basic Los Santos. Outside of Los Santos there's no similarities. No Los Venturas or San Fierro are in GTA V

ExoticWolfs The game is great! But the online not so much... Personally I love the game, I love the map, just about everything about the game is awesome!

The online is great... when you play a game 24 hours for the first 2 weeks then the game becomes boring since no developer can bring in brand new DLC every 2 weeks.

Aggie I am glad they did not make is 100% realistic. Make it like a dream.

Dreams are always better then the real thing, I'm glad they didn't make it 100% realistic.

I would also rather it be made up then completely realistic. I think Los Santos turned out quite well

Honey-Badger I wish they would remake San Andreas for the Xbox one as the 10 year aniversity in this October

That would be awesome, but across all last gen and current gen consoles + PC
