Untethered evasi0n7 iOS 7 Jailbreak released

4.4
Apple released iOS 7 in September and despite a lock screen exploit that was quickly closed with a patch, there hasn't been any recent jailbreaks released for the mobile OS. That changed early on Sunday morning when the well know Evad3rs hacker team released their latest version of evasi0n. This new build, called evasi0n7, is supposed to work on all versions of iOS 7 released to date.

The program itself runs on both Windows and Mac and allows users of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch products to gain deeper access to the OS, mostly to run apps that are not distributed by Apple via official channels. That includes Cydia and apparently the creator of that program, Jay Freeman, was surprised at the sudden release of the jailbreak program, at least according to his Twitter messages:

I thereby have no clue what will or will not work, or even what evasi0n7 includes; I hope that people bear with me as I figure this all out.

As with any jailbreak program, running this software is not recommended for the casual owner of Apple's mobile products. It could affect a device's battery life, security set ups and much more so people who install evasi0n7 do so at their own risk.

I wonder when they will have all of the tweaks, apps etc updated for ios 7 users, cant wait. I had the 6.1.4 jb a long time ago but something in cydia screwed my phone up and had to restore it to factory. So excited for this jb!

Agape I'd say update to 7.0.4 then jailbreak and sit. Don't mess with packages yet because some can be harmful to your iDevice at the moment.

You could also just not jailbreak it and wait for a stable IOS7 jailbreak to be released.

Jailbreaking was only good when "Installous" Worked, before Hackulo.us was closed!
now it feels stupid!

The idea of bricking the phone is still part of the conversation, stay away is the right thing to do.

Georgasm It's not stable, I wouldn't go anywhere near it.

the best option in this case is to wait for a more stable release i guess

Yep i don't think it's very safe at the moment :(

It isn't really. Just wait it out for a while

This is really cool. I am really surprised that it took so long in the first place for anyone to come up with a jailbreak release of iOS 7. This is really only useful for people who phones are out of warranty, and are looking for something new.
