PS4 sold 66% more units than Xbox One last month – Pachter

4.5
PlayStation 4 is significantly outselling Xbox One, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter said in a recent note to investors.

As reported by MCV, Pachter estimates the PS4 sold 1.25 million units in the US during the month of November, while the Xbox One sold 750,000 – putting the PS4 in front by 66% more unit sales.

Before you sound the victory bell, remember the PS4 launched on November 15, giving it 15 says on sale during the month, while the Xbox One launched on November 22, leaving it just eight days.

Pachter’s estimates, which we’ll know the accuracy of once the November NPD report releases, suggest sales of new consoles have come at a cost to existing hardware. The analyst believes the PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360′s hardware sales have fallen 28%, 65% and 44% year-on-year respectively.

Pachter has always been a strong believer in Microsoft but has warned the platform holder must drop the price on the Xbox One or PS4 will “win” this generation.

Jayden- This has come as a surprise.
Although the PS4 was released 15 days prior to the Xbox One release, I still thought that the Xbox One would be the extremely dominant console.

Apparently not.

I know this isn't reliable at all, but one could say that because PS4 sold 1.25 million in 15 days, they sold approximately 83,400 consoles per day. Xbone sold 750,000 over 8 days, which could be approximately 93,800 consoles per day. Like I said, this isn't a reliable way of thinking, but looking at it this way, Xbone sold more than PS4 in 8 days, and would pass PS4 in sales.

lol finally someone kind of smart. I think if they both came out the same the day the number of sales would be pretty close. You have to remember that as the days go on, the numbers will go down too.

agree, thats the point that everyone misses. anyone can make up a figure and throw it on the web. this source isnt reliable unless both figures come directly from MS and Sony themselves.

Cut It makes sense to buy the cheaper console because you have to buy games, pay for online, etc.
And the specs are almost the same? Correct me if I'm wrong

sorta, but the xbox is more technically advanced meaning it will probably be able to hold it's own better then ps4 in the upcoming years. That being said, currently they are virtually the same machine with a different OS.

Actually sir you are wrong. You are the typical ignorant xbox fanboy; the PS4 has better specs than the xbone. Thank you come again

I doubt this is a true fact

This really doesn't surprise me at all! It is one hundred dollars cheaper!

OfficialLeon Lol it being 100$ cheaper has nothing to do with it i had 600$ when i picked up mine i could've bought a Xbox one but i don't want it i personally agree with my friends its trash.

The Xbox ONE is a better machine with more capabilities. So far, the PS4 has been plagued with network issues and suspected compromised accounts. If your friends all got it and that made you want to get it, that's a different story.

In other news, in a recent study, experts found that PCs were still better than consoles.
