GTA V story DLC inbound in 2014, says Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto 5 players will be treated to "substantial" single-player story expansions in 2014.

Rockstar teased major plans for new content in a recent DLC-focused announcement. "For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas," it said.

This came along with an update to confirm that co-operative Heists for GTA Online were in development for release next year.

"Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year," said Rockstar.

The firm will this week launch the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta for GTA Online, letting players create their own missions in the online portion of the game.

Players will be able to share their creations with others, and the best creations will be highlighted in a selection of 'Rockstar Verified Jobs'.

The beta is "expected" to go live tomorrow, December 10.

A video showing off seemingly leaked content from Grand Theft Auto Online content creator emerged online last week.

December will also see the release of a new competitive team mode, Capture. As Rockstar explains, "A proper GTA twist on classic capture the flag, Capture mode brings territory infiltration and a new form of team-versus-team treachery into GTA Online. Up to four squads battle to steal contraband, trucks, buses or whatever from opponents' bases using high-speed vehicles, explosive weaponry and cunning teamwork.

"Capture is broken down into four variations - 'Raid', 'Contend', 'Hold' and 'GTA'". More details for each are promised soon.

I like the BOGT DLC in GTA IV I hope they make it as good as that one.

Pittsburgh I probably won't end up purchasing it. Not interested in story honestly.

Eh. I most likely won't be purchasing it. The story interested me to begin with but got boring to play on.

Mortar Considering the DLC for Grand Theft Auto V are being released rather late, I hope that Rockstar have put in a lot of work to make the DLC of high quality and have no bugs.

They most likely did, they just rather build up some hype before the release it in the new year.

Lightyear Hopefully the DLC will be fun and good :)

Seeming that it's a story DLC i have pretty high hopes for it. While the multiplayer was lackluster the single player experience was great in GTAV

Yeah dlc will actually make the game not repetitive.

But when you finish the DLC it will become repetitive again :p
