GTA V story DLC inbound in 2014, says Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto 5 players will be treated to "substantial" single-player story expansions in 2014.

Rockstar teased major plans for new content in a recent DLC-focused announcement. "For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas," it said.

This came along with an update to confirm that co-operative Heists for GTA Online were in development for release next year.

"Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year," said Rockstar.

The firm will this week launch the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta for GTA Online, letting players create their own missions in the online portion of the game.

Players will be able to share their creations with others, and the best creations will be highlighted in a selection of 'Rockstar Verified Jobs'.

The beta is "expected" to go live tomorrow, December 10.

A video showing off seemingly leaked content from Grand Theft Auto Online content creator emerged online last week.

December will also see the release of a new competitive team mode, Capture. As Rockstar explains, "A proper GTA twist on classic capture the flag, Capture mode brings territory infiltration and a new form of team-versus-team treachery into GTA Online. Up to four squads battle to steal contraband, trucks, buses or whatever from opponents' bases using high-speed vehicles, explosive weaponry and cunning teamwork.

"Capture is broken down into four variations - 'Raid', 'Contend', 'Hold' and 'GTA'". More details for each are promised soon.

TheOnlyDeagle I just can't see myself playing 360 again since I got my One.

I would gladly buy this game again if it came out on Next-gen.

just connect your 360 hdmi cord to the xbox one and then play both you can play xbox one & 360 at the same time

Ehhh...seems like too much hassle. And wouldn't there be input lag?

I can't wait for this DLC drop.

I actually got tired of playing this game. Everything seemed pointless to me especially sense after all those glitches.

But this one is actually worth going back to because it just such a fun game and there is a lot to do.

I'm so excited for all the new features and DLC! Seriously I would much rather buy DLC for this than any other game, specially CoD.

Downmost I find it funny how they are focusing on DLC rather than next-gen upgrades. Such a shame.

They are focusing on next-gen upgrades but they aren't announcing everything yet probably due to the fact (from what I heard) they'll be upgrading the games features and graphics a **** load for next-gen.

I still don't see them making a next gen port, they don't really have a point if they'll just release GTA6 for it.
