Sony won't ban PS4 consoles that arrive early to customers

4.5
Microsoft made headlines this weekend when it would not allow the few people who got Xbox One consoles sent to them ahead of its November 22nd launch date to use the product online. Microsoft executive Albert Penello later said the temporary bans on these consoles was due to the fact that the company is still trying to stomp out the final bugs in the Xbox One before the launch.

But what if, for some reason, someone gets a PS4 ahead of the U.S. launch date of November 15th, or the European launch scheduled for November 29th? Sony's President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, indicated in a Twitter post this weekend that the company won't ban any PS4 consoles that arrive to customers ahead of their launch dates.

Sony has already sent a PS4 to YouTube celebrity "Francis" to try out and the video seemed to indicate he was able to play games on the console. Sony has already announced that there will be a "day one" 300 MB software update for the console that will enable many of its features, including its ability to play Blu-ray movie discs.

AFrogAteMe OH MY GOD MUST CANCEL MY XBOX ONE PRE-ORDER NOW! ALL HAIL SONY!

lol exactly, what a desperate, lame, weak ploy for sony to try and get one more stab into microsoft before launch. I don't blame ms, the one doesn't come out for pretty much a month. that's way too early

It still kind of annoys me that it wont be launching until the 29th over here. I wont be able to get my hands on a console until 2014 anyway though

I understand why Microsoft is temp banning, but I like the fact that Sony isnt, just hope it doesnt **** their console by it not being ready yet with the release patch and they complain expecting new ones given to them in gold coated wrapping paper

Note The only probable reason they decided this is because Microsoft are temporarily banning people. Sony are immature, sure I like their consoles, but they're immature. Microsoft say or release something, and then not long after Sony release the opposite to try and be all great.

I like both consoles, but Microsoft is more professional and smarter about it all.
No point in using an unfinished console.

Don't forget MS denied the big RROD problem,so no that's "not" professional really is it?

Jono_Evz Here they are jumping on that bandwagon again trying to get one up on xbox one, I don't blame xbox for banning them

trying? looks like they succeeded

It's good they are doing this, but it doesn't really matter either way as playing multiplayer before the official release won't be as fun with little to no players.
