Sony has increased the friend limit on PSN to 2,000 ahead of PS4

Sony has increased the friend limit on PSN to 2,000 ahead of PlayStation 4′s launch next week.

PS4 supports up to 2,000 online friends, an expansion of the 100 friends limit for the PS3 system.

The PS3 system will continue to support up to 100 friends at one time. If you build a friend list bigger than 100 on PS4, Vita, network servers will automatically filter your friend’s list when you play on a PS3 system.

Additionally, you will be able to set and lock a pre-determined friends list to be used while you play on the PS3 system.

Support for the ability to display all of your friends in most applications and games is planned, however, some titles will be limited to the current 100 Friends limit.

I don't see the point in having it as large as 2000, especially if you add people then forget who they are.

I actually like this because then you don't have to keep removing people to get new people on your friends list.

FibreOp People really shouldn't be wining over this. Just keep your list of 20 friends and you don't ever need to worry about reaching a limit. Nuff said.


If people wine over this then they ridiculous because it won't matter.
It's not like Sony is forcing you to have 2000 friends.


They are more going towards players feeling 'limitless' when it comes to their friends list. i doubt anyone will actually reach it but it's still good to be there


My thoughts Exactly! I feel kind of bad for youtubers, they would need to sort through 2k friends requests lol

I wouldn't say that it's like that, being a huge multinational corporation they are obviously acting with a business mindset. Xbox set their limit to 1000 and Sony acted to one up them on that.


They seem to one up most things people do, but then again it's probably vice versa with other companies.
