Sony has increased the friend limit on PSN to 2,000 ahead of PlayStation 4′s launch next week.

PS4 supports up to 2,000 online friends, an expansion of the 100 friends limit for the PS3 system.

The PS3 system will continue to support up to 100 friends at one time. If you build a friend list bigger than 100 on PS4, Vita, network servers will automatically filter your friend’s list when you play on a PS3 system.

Additionally, you will be able to set and lock a pre-determined friends list to be used while you play on the PS3 system.

Support for the ability to display all of your friends in most applications and games is planned, however, some titles will be limited to the current 100 Friends limit.

If there isn't a select all button, I don't think anyone would be able to ever send a M2AF.

ZENU96 2,000 friends is just crazy, your friends list will just be a clutter of different people.

they aren't forcing you to have 2000 friends, they are just letting you have as many as you would like.

Thlack I can't even find 100 people to add on xbox? what am i supposed to do with 2000?

I think this is aimed towards having unlimited friends, not being limited.
There are a lot of people that hit friend caps pretty quickly.

NDSU LMFAO 2,000 Friends. I have 59 on the Xbox 360 and I barely even play with them. I guess The players who are known on Youtube will have a lot of Friend Requests.

I only have like 40 and I don't play with all of them. Youtubers will have their friends list full but won't play with half of them and will be spammed game invites.
I'm going to feel real sorry for all the big Youtubers...

I'm sure they will hit the 2k cap and then turn off notifications.
Even if they don't hit the 2k cap, they will just turn off notifications, lol.

I don't know why people would even want this amount of friends.
There is no way you could actively play with 2000 people so why would you just spam your friends list like that?

You would have trouble getting to the people you actually are going to play with.

You don't need to go up to 2000 friends.. it is just a limit

i would have been just as happy if they upped the limit to say 200 friends. 2000 seems a bit far fetched
