Xbox One will turn on faster than your TV while in stand-by mode

Xbox One will reportedly boot up faster than your TV, according to Microsoft’s director of product planning, Albert Penello.

Penello took to Reddit (via Videogamer) to answer fan questions and explain the power states of the console, saying, “There are basically three states. On, Off and Standby. On is On. Off is Off. Standby allows “Xbox On”, quick resume, checking for updates, etc.”

Penello was also keen to outline how quickly the console will boot-up in stand-by mode, “From standby, it’s likely the Xbox will be on before the TV is completely powered up.”
There is no information however about the exact time it would take for the process, but I guess that’s something we will find out come launch.

Microsoft also intends for Xbox One to be spend most of its time in stand-by mode, from this mode the console can launch TV or games without using much power, according to Penello, “This is the mode we’d like to see people in, obviously, so you get back to gaming or watching TV really quick.”

I could not care a bit. TV is for TV. I don't need Facebook while watching southpark and I don't need Facebook or TV while playing Ryse. I just really hate that the Xbox One is not even centered on gaming. Microsoft thinks the Xbone will be in everyone household and that it will replace everything.

I bought a GAMING console for GAMES. Not TV.

For all You idiots out there that are saying "what's the point in this" Think about xbox 360 and ps3, when you turned the Tv and console at the same time, it would show the loading screen and all that stuff. they're telling you this so that you are aware that that wont be happening anymore. youre just going to turn on the tv and the xbox one dashboard its already going to there for you to choose what you want to do, or maybe the game you left off at. Comprende ?

im a newly found psfan but lets be honest xbox one is horrible. im buying it for my litte bros who are 9 and 14 but this console is even a console. my brothers especially the nine year old one love Xbox i use to love it also but its becone a dictator ship. xbox fans do the same thing as PS4 fans.
