Custom Luigi 2DS up for auction, 25% of proceeds to Child's Play

4.5
Remember Rose Colored Gaming's Luigi 2DS, the modified handheld that looks good enough to be a real Nintendo product? Now that it's up for auction, you can celebrate the Year of Luigi in style by establishing yourself as the bro's biggest fan. The bidding period will conclude on November 17 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, with 25 percent of the proceeds going to the Child's Play Charity.

Despite the interest the singular unit has drawn, the auction page explains that the unit was built under the vision of a "one-of-a-kind item, and as such, there will not be a run of more than one." The green and white color scheme is complimented with an indentation of Luigi on the back of the device.

They should just donate all of the money to Child's Play.

Lavish I don't know why the person that buys this doesn't donate the full amount to Child's Play instead of buying some trash handheld gaming system.

..... Maybe he is a big fan or mario and luigi and wants to buy the 2DS, or maybe a collector who wants a one of a kind item.

VANAGON Nice to see that its going to charity.

It's always good to see companies doing this. Better for 25% of it to go to a good cause then 100% of it going to the company

i couldnt not agree more Katsumi i think more companies should do things like this it would help out a ton.

Vampiric They didn't try very hard with the design did they, in all fairness.

To be honest, no, it doesn't look too special in any way. In my opinion.

I have to agree with that. While it's a novelty having a one of a kind item it isn't very special in my opinion

Most people would prefer this, if there favorite color was green. When I bought my 3DS, I bought a purple one because I didn't like the Red, Blue or Black one. So, for people who can't get a Green 2DS, this would be perfect. Plus, an indention of Luigi on the back? That's cool as ****. If it were Pokemon themed and had an indention of a Pokemon, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, if I needed it.

Merh, you could easily get anything you wanted put on it using a laser cutter if you wanted to.

But for a 1 off version of the handheld, it's a pretty boring green colour, seeing as it's a one off they could have done some custom airbrush work or something to make it truly special, different & bland colour and an etched Luigi face on it just seems lazy considering it's not being mass produced.
