Battlefield 4 'Second Assault' DLC maps confirmed

4.6
DICE has confirmed the four maps that will make up the first Battlefield 4 DLC pack, titled 'Second Assault'.

The Second Assault expansion pack will include four "fan-favourite" Battlefield 3 maps redesigned using the Frostbite 3 engine for BF4. The maps officially confirmed to be making the jump are; Operation Firestorm, Operation Metro, Caspian Border and Gulf of Oman.

As previously promised, Microsoft confirmed the news today during a streamed Battlefield 4 Xbox Live event in which US and European teams faced off in the new online FPS. Official confirmation comes after all four maps had long been tipped to be included in the pack after being glimpsed in a previous BF4 trailer.

DICE has said that the BF3 maps that make up Second Assault will be "enhanced to include new multiplayer features from Battlefield 4" as the trailer through the above link demonstrates.

EA has confirmed that Second Assault will be "available at launch first on Xbox One", which hits stores on November 22, as part of a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft. Release dates for PlayStation and PC versions are yet to be confirmed.

Second Assault is one of five Battlefield 4 expansions due for release by the summer of 2014. They can be pre-purchased as part of the £39.99/$49.99 Battlefield Premium subscription offering. The other four expansions are titled China Rising, Naval Strike, Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand.

Current-generation console and PC versions of BF4 are out now. PS4 and Xbox One versions will arrive alongside the consoles later this month.

I heard a lot of negative things about this game but I will still probably buy it for the Xbox One.

Just started playing Battlefield again, this one is super fun. Highly recommend. I really don't know why they need DLC right now, there are plenty of maps, but I would like to see more, country/farm maps.

LaserShow I would have rather seen Bad Company 2 maps than BF3 ones. Arica Harbour would be awesome and i'd love to play on Port Valdez again. As for the selection i never really liked op firestorm but metro could be interesting with the ability to kill the power dropping the tunnels into complete darkness.

I would love to see some Bad Company 2 maps. Bad Company 2 has to be my favorite battlefield game of all time

these maps sound good, but the game barely came out and they're already advertising it.
