Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on PC in Q1 2014 – report

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on PC in 2014, according to multiple industry sources close to Eurogamer.

The release plan mirrors the same one used for Grand Theft Auto 4, which released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 29 before launching on PC the following December.

In August Nvidia’s senior director of investor relations, Chris Evenden, noted a PC version of GTA 5 during a financial call, but the firm said this was made in error.

Earlier this week, Intel executive Chris R. Silva said he expects Grand Theft Auto 5 to come to PC eventually, suggesting the PC version was excluded at launch due to “someone” paying to keep it on consoles.

Supposedly, a source code for the PC and a PlayStation 4 version were found in the Xbox 360 version, which oddly did not include a source code for Xbox One.

To date, almost 600,000 people have signed a petition asking for the game on PC.

The sources state the game will be released on PC in the first quarter of 2014.

NV_Lobbys It was probably Sony who paid to keep it on consoles, seeing as Microsoft has Games for Windows Live.

but games for windows live has been shut down.

Really? Do you know whether or not support for GTA 4 online for PC would still be up as it is ran via windows live?

Oasis I wonder who paid to keep it on console first hmmmm. Maybe Microsoft and Sony had a under the table deal.

I just think they didn't want to mess up the port like they did with IV.

Yeah the port for IV was sloppy, unoptimized, and extremely buggy. Even now it has a lot of bugs and optimization problems..
