GTA Online includes in-game currency microtransactions – rumour

4.6
A file pulled from Rockstar’s website seems to show that GTA Online players will be able to buy in-game cash with real money.

A Reddit user found and analysed an XML file from Rockstar’s website, which seems to show virtual items available for purchase in Grand Theft Auto 5′s online component.

These items seem to include “cash packs” in denominations of $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 and $1.25 million.

“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting,” the description in the XML file states.

The news has not been confirmed, but has produced a predictably angry reaction among those who dislike microtransactions, especially given that some players have struggled to earn in-game money in single-player.

Grand Theft Auto Online goes live on October 1. it will include support for up to 16 players with various modes like racing and heists, supported by a crew system. The latest whispers say the player count may have been bumped to 32.

I don't think I'll be buying in game currency, I don't really see a huge point in doing so.

I also don't see there being 32 player online multiplayer, I wish there would be but if you look at the back of the case it say 2-16.

This isn't bad. Everyone usually starts doing it.

Georgasm This isn't a bad thing, CoD started using micro transactions and no one cared. In fact loads of people were excited for new camos every few months. This can only benefit Rockstar.

Actually a lot of people I know where calling Treyarc Money hungry constantly, but as others have said the people who have a hell of a lot of money will have the advantage over everybody else so it is going to be a pain as usual.

More for skilled people like me to steal off so let them its only me who will get stinking rich from their hard earned real life cash.

Third_Eye Instead of looking down on this, let's see of it even makes its way into GTA Online. If and when that does happen, lets look at how big of a role currency even plays. Just wait and see how this all plays out...

I don't think it will roll out well I hope Rockstar don't go down this road for their sake anyways they made well enough money at launch I do not want them to turn into a money hungry company.

You people are seriously cry babies. Who cares if they do micro transactions. Doesn't degrade your experience at all. Calm the **** down.
