FIFA 13 netted $70 million in digital revenue last quarter

FIFA 13 saw $70 million in revenue from digital sales in Q1 of fiscal year 2014, which stretches from April 1, 2013 through June 30, 2013. The figure from EA's earnings report today is derived on a non-GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) basis.

EA reports that the digital sales for the footy game, which may include both FIFA Ultimate Team and digital games sales, amounted to a 92 percent increase over FIFA 12's digital sales performance in Q1 2013.

A lot of people opening packs. Hopefully a large chunck of it goes into the development of FIFA 14.

That's a ridiculous amount for a quater. I guess Fifa does have a Pay to Win feature in it though which makes sense.

bigchukka It wouldn't surprise me if all game company's put micro purchases all through their games. Fifa 13 was a huge success doing it..and Cod is starting to follow.


I have to agree, I'm seeing a lot of games have very good things to offer in game. A lot of the community is starting too see that as well, and a lot of revenue comes from things like this now.
