FIFA 13 netted $70 million in digital revenue last quarter

FIFA 13 saw $70 million in revenue from digital sales in Q1 of fiscal year 2014, which stretches from April 1, 2013 through June 30, 2013. The figure from EA's earnings report today is derived on a non-GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) basis.

EA reports that the digital sales for the footy game, which may include both FIFA Ultimate Team and digital games sales, amounted to a 92 percent increase over FIFA 12's digital sales performance in Q1 2013.

While it depends mainly on luck it's understandable that EA doesn't give out many good packs, if they did then people will stop buying them. It's pretty much gambling with the reward being players etc.

DLT A lot of people opening packs. Hopefully a large chunck of it goes into the development of FIFA 14.


I also hope that a lot of they money that they have earned has went to improving FIFA 14. Then again.. it is EA

It's because EA post so many offers and basically younger people feel more pressured to buy them, it should be illegal to be able to spend money on packs. It ruins Ultimate Team, it should be how it was on FIFA 09: You can only buy packs from coins which you can only earn first of all from matches. It's much more exciting that way.

i'm sure it is, EA knows that everyone thinks that FIFA is the same every year so this time they are putting in a lot of realistic features and features that the community wanted as well, they have also changed the layout of UT, FIFA 14 will be good.
