Forza Horizon studio working on new racing title

Playground Games, the UK studio behind Forza Horizon, is staffing up for work on what it describes as a "visually stunning", "genre-leading" racing game.

A number of ads on Playground's careers page (as spotted by Videogamer) suggest the studio is working on a new racing game due for release late next year.

One ad, for a rendering engineer, reads as follows: "Working at senior level in a team of rendering engineers, you will be responsible for implementation of cutting edge rendering techniques. Engineers with in-depth knowledge of current-gen consoles are ideal for this role, as you will innovate on this technology to produce a visually stunning title."

Another ad, for senior game designer, concludes: "This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced team at an early stage of development and help define the vision for a genre-leading game."

Whatever the new game is, it won't be Forza Motorsport 5, which is currently being developed by Turn 10 and set for release as an Xbox One launch title.

In our Forza Horizon review, we called Playground's game "an exceptional open-world racer, burdened slightly by the series' heritage and all the expectations that the Forza brand brings."

jacobistheboss Horizon was a great addition to the series, it's a lot better than the other forzas which offer repetitive tracks, poor customization and **** boring races


I like Horizon much better because of the open world. But Forza 4 had way more customization's.

Cokes Re-reading this, I'm thinking...they should name it forza something. I'm sure people would buy it for the brand name Forza.


I don't know honestly, Forza Horizon was fun and all, but it took the focus away from what Forza really is, the Forza franchise is of Driving Simulation, but Forza Horizon was a more of a Driving Playground (ironic, I know). It was an amazing game and a great addition to the franchise, but if Playground Games create their own franchise then it could have a much better turn out.


Dude the game is fun its the most real race hgame out there.


I emphasized that several times, but it's not a racing simulator, it's a street racing playground that's designed on casual play, it's a good thing, but in comparison to Forza 4 there are a lot less fine tuning elements for car lovers, and it doesn't stretch as far into the simulation, but that's a good thing for most people.


yeah personally I didn't like horizon, I might have if it had tuning or more than like 30 cars, especially considering the previous forza had what like 600 or something?

If you want to make a realistic racing game, it really can't get more fun than it already is.
