Playground Games, the UK studio behind Forza Horizon, is staffing up for work on what it describes as a "visually stunning", "genre-leading" racing game.

A number of ads on Playground's careers page (as spotted by Videogamer) suggest the studio is working on a new racing game due for release late next year.

One ad, for a rendering engineer, reads as follows: "Working at senior level in a team of rendering engineers, you will be responsible for implementation of cutting edge rendering techniques. Engineers with in-depth knowledge of current-gen consoles are ideal for this role, as you will innovate on this technology to produce a visually stunning title."

Another ad, for senior game designer, concludes: "This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced team at an early stage of development and help define the vision for a genre-leading game."

Whatever the new game is, it won't be Forza Motorsport 5, which is currently being developed by Turn 10 and set for release as an Xbox One launch title.

In our Forza Horizon review, we called Playground's game "an exceptional open-world racer, burdened slightly by the series' heritage and all the expectations that the Forza brand brings."
