Xbox One supports partial-download play

The Xbox One will allow users to play games while they are being downloaded, a Microsoft representative confirmed with Polygon this week.

Microsoft previously noted that players could begin playing disc-based games during installation, though the company did not specify whether games downloaded from Xbox Live would share similar functionality. Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 supported partial-download play earlier this year.

Lol i just noticed that. Anyways, yeah i am pretty sure thats what it means and it'll be a cool feature.

This is promising, I hope they include free usage downloads. Like where the download usage isn't taken away from your monthly limit

yeah, it is awesome that they are doing this, but I think I am moving to PC also. :)

Mini arcade games arent that big. Atleast we dont have to wait that long for games on demand.


yh that is what really annoys me and my connection is crap and takes like 4-6 hours to download an on demand game

Does this mean i can download a game on demand and then play it as it is downloading? If so, then it makes no sense what so ever.

Or does it mean that i can play a DISC game while it is installing.
