Xbox One boss Don Mattrick 'resigns'

Don Mattrick, the most senior executive within Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, has allegedly announced his intention to leave the company.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Mattrick is departing to take up the role of chief executive officer at beleaguered social games group Zynga.

Microsoft has declined to comment

Honestly, I haven't used Zynga since Myspace. I don't even think I know anybody who still uses Zynga.


I played a few Zynga games on Facebook in 2010 but since then social games have been dying. I too don't know anyone who plays them any more

This isn't a really good idea from him in my opinion. He left one of the largest companies in the world for a failing social game company? it doesn't make much sense to me. Hopefully he can turn the tables for Zynga once again

Well considering he is now CEO which is higher up in the chain than he was in, I'm assuming he get's paid more. Unless MS paid him a ridiculous amount which I highly doubt.

It was a stupid move for him, but I think he just wants to help Zynga out. Get them kinda back on their feet I guess, then he might return to Microsoft?
