Microsoft updates complaint feature on Xbox Live

4.6
If you are an Xbox Live user and you wish to file a complaint about what another user has done on the online gaming service, Microsoft will now be sending you messages back if they happen to take any action on your issue.

Polygon reports that Microsoft quietly started this new practice on Xbox Live earlier this year. In a statement, Microsoft said:

"When a member files a complaint against another player, the complaint feedback feature will notify select complainants that one or more of their complaints have resulted in enforcement action. Members will be notified via in-dash messaging and may view additional information at http://www.xbox.com/live/complaint-feedback.
For example, Xbox Live users may feel they are being bullied or harassed by other members while they are online playing a game. If Microsoft examines the evidence against that user and finds any cause for concern, they can take a number of actions, ranging from barring any communication in online games to Xbox Live account suspensions, all the way up to physical Xbox 360 console bans.

Microsoft may also remove points from an Xbox Live account holder's Gamerscore if they receive complaints they have tried to cheat to unlock achievements. Microsoft said that adding feedback to complaint reports "is one feature in several near- and long-term product and service enhancements that we have in the works."

3. File a Complaint - If you encounter someone that breaks the Xbox Live Code of Conduct, be sure to use the File Complaint system. All complaints are reviewed by Xbox Live (however, Xbox Live policy does not disclose the status or results of individual complaints)

So that last bit has changed now, has it? nice change. why withhold it in the first place? :S

I got that message like a week ago. I reported my 2nd account because it is banned and I thought I could unban it. Long story. Anyway, I hate this stupid enforcement.

I got about four before reading this. I think this is pretty cool. I'm glad to know when something actually gets done to those that are breaking the rules. It helps me want to report those that are violating rules.

I wish they had a feature like this on The Tech Game, it would be nice to know that are reports matter and it could be an automated system, that alerts us, when one of our reports ended up as a warning/ ban. This is nice to see on Live, encourages more people to report the scum of xbox live.
