Xbox1.com domain next on Microsoft’s list

4.4
Microsoft has filed yet another dispute over domain names related to its new console, this time chasing down the owner of xbox1.com via the National Arbitration Forum.

The domain is currently registered to a Japanese address, and has had three owners in the last ten years.

Since filing a dispute with the NAF is an extreme measure, Microsoft is likely to have pursued the domain through less dramatic means, and been rejected.

As Fusible points out, again, Microsoft’s legal team are pretty good at this sort of thing and will likely win. Should have taken the offer, yo.

Microsoft recently tackled XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net, both of which were registered to a UK resident at the time.

-LOST- I don't see how they can just take it from him. Just offer the guy something in exchange for it.

well it says "Microsoft is likely to have pursued the domain through less dramatic means, and been rejected." so maybe they already tried offering him something but he rejected it

I laugh at the people complaining over this. It's like they thing microsoft is the only company to take domains. Well got news for you, EVERY single company does this when they have a new product. It's not even a big deal, and I hate how the media makes it seem like Microsoft is some evil spirit by doing this. Articles are so biased just to get your attention, haha.

I wonder if they'll get XboxOne.org

I might make a domain and get some money for it.

I would've just taken the money man! **** dealing with legal crap especially against multi-billion dollar companies! Good luck NAF.... you're gonna need all you can get LOL

Idiots on this forum just don't understand. When Microsoft registers a domain USUALLY 100% of the time the media finds out instantly and are all over it. That's why they don't do it prehand before the reveal.

-Tenth- They should have gotten them before it was announced.

SweetTealsGood Why didn't they do this before they announced it? Duh.

Because the Xbox One is no original name, people would've taken that name years ago after the original Xbox was announced, and doing it before would've also leaked the name of the console...

I don't understand why the people don't just take the money in the first place. Otherwise Microsoft will take you to court and it will cost you so much more in legal fee's then the website was ever worth.
