Call of Duty Ghosts to feature Kinect voice commands

4.6
Call of Duty: Ghosts has been designed to incorporate Kinect voice commands.

Eric Hirshberg, chief executive of Activision's game publishing arm, said in-game voice commands via Kinect "really excite us because of the level of responsiveness and detail".
On Tuesday, Microsoft revealed that its next generation console, Xbox One, would be packaged with a second-generation edition of Kinect. The new camera-based technology is said to be so advanced that it can track eye movement and detect heart rate.

Hirshberg told Venturebeat that Activision has "always made sure that we don't just use new technology for novelty's sake".

"We always make sure that it makes the gameplay better. In this case, we think it will," he added.

Activision offered the first look at Call of Duty: Ghosts during Microsoft's Xbox One presentation, when it confirmed that Xbox will receive timed-exclusive DLC for the game.

It is not yet known whether Ghost will support the PS4 Eye camera's microphone.

Hirshberg said he was unable to elaborate further. "You heard us reference the fact that the downloadable content will be available first on Xbox, which is something that we've had in the past. I don't have more announcements other than that except to say that we've had a great partnership with Microsoft".

In the wake of the Xbox One reveal, critics and commentators have formed no consensus on the viability and appeal of the machine. Hirshberg said Microsoft should show Xbox One's gaming credentials as a priority.

"They all have to be great game machines first. I think that's the tip of the sword. Everyone's trying to own the living room and own the entire entertainment experience, but it's a game machine first and foremost. We've been pleased with Xbox's approach."

TeamArianaGrande It Is Cool, But Is This Game Going To Be Like That For The 360 And If So, What If I Don't Have A Kinect?

The whole Kinect in Call of Duty dosen't work for me. Even if they do it amazingly well, I don't see as a place for Call of Duty. If they make you have to use the michrophone in the game that will be horrible but I can see as an added feature that you can turn on and off.

ODST Even if the commands are simple things like "squad, move up", we saw how bad these commands worked with Tom Clancy's End War game a few years back. Great in theory but execution is key towards voting if the game is worth getting now or not.

You never know, maybe they will turn out good, but alot of work would need put into it
