Call of Duty Ghosts to feature Kinect voice commands

Call of Duty: Ghosts has been designed to incorporate Kinect voice commands.

Eric Hirshberg, chief executive of Activision's game publishing arm, said in-game voice commands via Kinect "really excite us because of the level of responsiveness and detail".
On Tuesday, Microsoft revealed that its next generation console, Xbox One, would be packaged with a second-generation edition of Kinect. The new camera-based technology is said to be so advanced that it can track eye movement and detect heart rate.

Hirshberg told Venturebeat that Activision has "always made sure that we don't just use new technology for novelty's sake".

"We always make sure that it makes the gameplay better. In this case, we think it will," he added.

Activision offered the first look at Call of Duty: Ghosts during Microsoft's Xbox One presentation, when it confirmed that Xbox will receive timed-exclusive DLC for the game.

It is not yet known whether Ghost will support the PS4 Eye camera's microphone.

Hirshberg said he was unable to elaborate further. "You heard us reference the fact that the downloadable content will be available first on Xbox, which is something that we've had in the past. I don't have more announcements other than that except to say that we've had a great partnership with Microsoft".

In the wake of the Xbox One reveal, critics and commentators have formed no consensus on the viability and appeal of the machine. Hirshberg said Microsoft should show Xbox One's gaming credentials as a priority.

"They all have to be great game machines first. I think that's the tip of the sword. Everyone's trying to own the living room and own the entire entertainment experience, but it's a game machine first and foremost. We've been pleased with Xbox's approach."

Sean commands like sit, rollover and Stay!

This... Sean's got the right idea lol. I guess stuff like telling your squad when to act and stop would be cool. I forgot which game did that but it was by Tom Clancy, that I know.

Yeah it was Rainbow Six Vegas, if it is like that, will be really good.

He might of been talking about End Of War where u could tell ur team what to do through the mic

That's a cool thing to have, but I still prefer manual controllers.

Yay for voice commands in Call of Duty.... said no one ever. I hope this is just an option and nothing that is manditory. I mean, they do know mute people play the game, don't they? Even deaf people play, and I know they usually have a tough time talking clearly. They need to consider others before they go too far with this.

Installous I don't know how much late-night gamers will like this if they're required to play properly. Nobody likes waking up their roommate.

If anything, I think it would actually be cool to use it in campaign only. Imagine being able to tell your squad or dog what to do.

To be honest i dont have a clue what you would use the voice commands for in a game....
