Xbox One not backwards compatible with 360 discs/XBLA purchases

4.4
The new Xbox One will not be backwards compatible. They have also announced that old purchases from the Xbox 360 will not transfer over because of the new processor they have put in. Microsoft have said that they care about the purchases, and will still be updating new apps and features on the old Xbox 360. Microsoft said that some things will transfer over such as the gamer score that you earned in previous years on the 360.

bigchukka I dont care that much when it comes to marketplace games..sure it suck. Im pissed off that we cant play our 360 games online. There is almost no point of buying GTA V,Cod ghost,BF4 and many others because we wont be able to play them on it.

Maybe you could buy the Xbox One version of those games.....

The purchases are o your download history of course you will be able to play your purchased games, Xbox 360 let you play old Xbox games I'm sure the XBOX ONE will to now stop making rumors they didn't say any of that in the reveal.

newtonballs26 Nice to know the $300 I've spent over the years just in XBLA purchases might as well be going down the toilet. Definitely not buying the new Xbox anytime soon

Hmm...it's annoying that I won't get these purchases back, but I guess we should of saw this coming. I never did expect to have these games for life if I'm honest, and shame on you if you did

The new processor is not even that powerful. I don't see why they couldn't do this it would be so much better, so that you haven't wasted thousands of dollars on games.

delano and what are they going to do with your micrsoft points??

You'll probably be able to keep your Microsoft Points but it will be changed to regular money, seeing as Microsoft is getting rid of the Points system.
