Wii U Frostbite engine tests yield 'not too promising' results

EA DICE technical director Johan Andersson revealed that the developer's Frostbite 3 engine, which powers Battlefield 4 and the next entries in the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises, does not run on Nintendo's Wii U.

Responding to fan questions on Twitter, Andersson explained that DICE's Wii U experiments with Frostbite 2 had "not too promising" results, leading to the company abandoning efforts to get Frostbite 3 up and running on Nintendo's latest console.

During the Game Developers Conference in March, Epic Games' Mark Rein noted that Unreal Engine 4 does not currently run on the Wii U. Rein later clarified, explaining that licensed developers could potentially port Unreal Engine 4-powered games to the Wii U, at their discretion

Well it is pointless for all the new releases making their games for the Wii U as they can see how the Wii U is getting on just now. It would be a waste of money for the game releasers

The exact same thing I was thinking. You think they'll would know now that need to cater more to the hardcore gamers than the casual gamers. But they still don't seem to get it.

Whoever decided to put that CPU in the Wii U should be looking for a new job.

A decent amount of people would have bought them game, mostly the people who plated COD on the original Wii.

Don't forget the Nintendo is #1 in handheld sales and the Wii still sells pretty well. They dominate the handheld market hands down.

Remakes, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, you name it those suckers sell like crazy.

Unfortunately what is also hurting the Wii U is that there is NOT a single game that would make me want to play it (yeah I bought one on launch >.> and it has been collecting dust). Give me some Zelda, Smash Bros, something!

The 3ds is good it will Have Monster Hunter 4 and the Wii U will not... Mario Kart 7 is really fun to play with a friend thats a chick, So You can ass ram her
