Leaker Shares Kingdom Hearts 4 Details

3
Rumors have surfaced from a credible leaker with new details about Kingdom Hearts 4. The next game is hotly anticipated after the climactic ending to the Dark Seeker saga in Kingdom Hearts 3 pointed to more for the overall series. While there has been some information shared about the upcoming release, the flow of news has been slow. Fans have grown curious about the status of Kingdom Hearts 4.

May 20 was huge for the Kingdom Hearts series. A recent announcement revealed that Kingdom Hearts will be coming to Steam on June 13, and fans have been excited about seeing the series reach an even wider audience. Additionally, a platform-exclusive "Dead of Night" keyblade will be included for gamers who purchase Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind (DLC) on Steam. It appears that this could be the start of more plans for the series.

Notable leaker Midori shared new information about Kingdom Hearts 4. The game is reportedly codenamed Quattro, will feature small online features, and appears very different visually from what was shown back in its announcement trailer. In a thread, Midori notes that their source shared this information months back in addition to rumors about the series coming to Steam. Midori did not believe the rumors initially, but the Steam announcement helped corroborate the rest of the information. Alongside the update on Kingdom Hearts 4, Midori has also recently claimed that Square Enix is developing a Final Fantasy 9 remake. A remake for Final Fantasy 9 has been long-rumored, but there is no official announcement yet.

Midori additionally revealed that their source told them about developer BitGroove working on Kingdom Hearts Missing Link and planning a beta test for April. On April 22, applications for a Kingdom Hearts Missing Link closed beta opened, and the beta test began on May 2. Aside from Kingdom Hearts 4, which Square Enix has stayed quiet about, these rumors have proven mostly accurate. It is easier to confirm much of this information in hindsight, however. Kingdom Hearts fans appear to have exciting new updates to look forward to, and news may be fast approaching if rumors about Kingdom Hearts 4 releasing in 2025 are also true.

Another bit of information from Midori claims that the Kingdom Hearts series, including Kingdom Hearts 4, is headed to Nintendo's Switch successor. If this claim is true, it shows that the broad appeal of Kingdom Hearts is recognized as an asset, as Square Enix is using it to lead its multiplatform strategy. The opportunity for greater success could lead to many more Kingdom Hearts releases in the future.
