Next gen Xbox disk installation required

4.2
Earlier today, a few images of the "Microsoft Durango XDK Documentation Setup" leaked on the internet. This document is for licensed game developers only, and it reveals tons of unannounced information regarding the next-gen Xbox to the public. Much more has been added to the documentation since the last time it was leaked.

What really threw us off was the following:
"All games will be installed on the hard drive. Play from optical disc will not be supported."

What do you think? We'd say this is proof that they will include, at least, a 320GB hard drive in the base console at launch.

We also noticed that upon installation of the documentation, all of the tools and plugins needed for developers to create games are installed to Visual Studio 2012. Older versions of Visual Studio seem to have been abandoned.

Brad- Wow, this is good news :D I always rage and snap my games! But one problem; How do we buy the game? Do we get them on disk and then install them onto the xbox? Also, I have 250GB on my current xbox with only about half of my games installed and it's full... I'll want at least 1TB if this is true!

I'm hoping you can buy the game then download it, the only problem would be now blu ray is pretty much confirmed they will probably be up to 50GB so take forever to download. Unless they have insanely good servers which allows you to utilise your full bandwidth.

Great, loads of money to spend on larger hard drives. :/

I sapose this is in a way good then, but only if you have fast internet connection. As when my friend buys games of the store it takes about 10 hours to install haha

only being able to download games on the xbox is a bad idea, some people have Xboxes for offline gaming and do not have internet. Also that's just another attempt to stop people from pirating games. You watch Microsoft, your plan will fail

I normally install anyway as it speeds up loading processes and is quieter on the disk.

zR-Tx Haha xbox all the games will cost more!

How will they cost more?

OT: I don't really care about this because I usually install them anyway.
