Rumor: More Next-Gen Xbox specs leaked

4.7
In our last article about about the new xbox's specs being leaked, we noted that it could have an eight-core CPU, and an 8800 series GPU. Well, more rumors have emerged over the past two days or so, which includes more information.

Along with the eight-core CPU, and the 8800 series GPU, the Next-Gen system could also include an 800-MHz graphics processor with 12 shader cores "providing a total of 768 threads", capable of a peak raw processing performance of 1.2 teraflops (1.2 trillion floating-point operations per second, tech heads; this should be good for you!). Like in the previous article, we also said the next Xbox could have 8GB of DDR3 RAM, but again, more information has emerged which state that the 8GB of RAM could be supplemented with 32 MB of fast embedded SRAM (Static random access memory.)

The disc drive is apparently a Blu-ray drive capable of reading 50GB Blu-ray discs at x6 read speeds.

The console will also apparently come with "Kinect multi-channel echo cancellation (MEC) hardware" which we have assumed will work together with the next version of the Kinect motion sensor.

Also rumored: there's mention of a 'HDMI 1.4a in', which suggests that the Next-Gem console may be able to receive a video signal from another device, such as a cable or satellite TV box, with the ability to record.

Here is a full list of the reported specs:

CPU:

- x64 Architecture.

- Each CPU thread has its own 32 KB L1 instruction cache, and 32 KB L1 data cache.

- Each module of four CPU cores has a 2 MB L2 cache resulting in a total of 4 MB of L2 cache.

- 8 CPU cores running at 1.6 gigahertz.

- Each core has one fully independent hardware thread with no shared execution resources.

- Each hardware thread can issue two instructions per clock.

GPU:

- Custom D3D11.1 class 800-MHz graphics processor

- 12 shader cores providing 768 threads.

- Each thread can perform one scalar multiplication and addition operation (MADD) per clock cycle.

- At peak performance, the GPU can effectively issue 1.2 trillion floating-point operations per second.

- High-fidelity Natural User Interface (NUI) sensor is always present

Storage and Memory:

- 8GB of DDR3 RAM (68 GB/s)

- 32MB of fast embedded SRAM (102 GB/s)

- From the GPU's perspective, the bandwidths of system memory and ESRAM are parallel providing combined peak bandwidth of 170 GB/s.

- Hard drive is always present.

- Disk Drive capable of reading 50GB Blu-Ray disks at x6 reading speeds.

Networking:

- Gigabit Ethernet

- Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct

Hardware Accelerators:

- Move engines.

- Image, video, and audio codecs.

- Kinect multichannel echo cancellation (MEC) hardware

- Cryptography engines for encryption, decryption, and hashing.

Similarly with the previous article on the rumored specs of the next Xbox, take all of this with a grain of salt. Nothing has been confirmed yet, these are all rumors.

Like bobac said, it would be nice to play online for free.
Especially since Microsoft has made billions of dollars after expenses from their Xbox users.

boback Might as well call it a "xpcmini" the specs are the same as a mini beefed up pc.
All in all nice to see that the xbox is evolving to a more pc base system, now all we will need
is be able play online for free.

If you cant afford to pay 50 dollars a year then I'm sorry but maybe you should be looking for work instead of wasting your time complaining. Plus if you wait until you see a sale you can get good deals. I got my live for 30 dollars but that's the cheapest I have ever seen it besides one dollar for one month.

You clearly do not understand what i just worte, " I never said i can't "afford" nor did i say i was "complaining". Fyi i can afford that, my pc alone cost $7,000. These are my specs
EVGA's Classified SR-2
48GB of RAM
EVGA GeForce GTX 480 x 3
Dual 3.3GHz Xeon X5680s x2
Auzentech X-Fi Forte
All in a cooler master hafx water cooled. Tali that up and tell me again.

bit over kill don't you think, unless your running like 3 screens and just do rendering all day?

Some say that, but this beast can tear it up, overkill, i think off it like that, 3 screens yes 3 HP 2010i, along with the lg tv. lol.

With grammar like that I doubt you could even afford $7000 yet alone an LG TV. I am a 15 year old, clearly more educated and probably a better job. Lier.

Just STFU, he knows more about the subject at hand than you do, whether or not he has the system. Also, do you think he would have done the research to find a system that is fully compatible and has 3 monitor support, all for a lie, all you have done is humiliated yourself with your reply and I highly doubt he is a "Lier"
P.S. Nice, you even spelt it wrong with spell check

Whats a lier?

i just wanna say why the **** would u ever want to spend 7,000 dollars on a **** computer? do you not go out often?

MY pc has ~$500 USD and can outperform this...
Step it up console.. AMD 8 cores is nothing compared to 3770k(quad core) and I personally run AMD (because its cheaper lol).

And Ill bet anything an old gtx 660ti is more graphically enhanced
