Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition texture pack support coming

4.8
The list of features still to be added to Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is quite long but 4J Studios revealed Monday that texture pack support is being added to the hit Xbox LIVE Arcade title.

"We have started work on texture pack support," the studio said in response to a fan's question. "No dates for any releases yet though."

Adding support for texture packs will allow users to change the look of the blocks that are used to construct the Minecraft worlds along with mobs and the user interface. This feature has been a part of the game since it was in alpha but it was unknown if it would ever come to the console version.

How it will be implemented is still a question since Microsoft does not allow for easy modding via Xbox LIVE. 4J Studios is already working on "tailored mods" for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition so it is possible the developer could implement a similar solution for texture packs.

Can't Wait, For TPs and Mods!

I believe the reasons for extra payed content is because microsoft charges the creater for content updates dlc releases and more. I bet mojang would of released this for free if they could.

Finder I'm guessing they aren't going to be free either

Phhhht, thats microsoft for you. If it was just Mojang pumping out the game, instead of it going through microsoft. We would have updates sooner and free skins. What am I saying, we would have a skin creator!

Deceit Can't wait until this hits. Minecraft is what I relax in after Call of Duty.

Same. Grind a prestige in 3-4 days, then relax onto Minecraft the following days.
Unfortunately I can't exactly 'relax' just yet on Minecraft Xbox Version because of the updates being behind, no mods (yet) etc.
But PC's just too expensive for me.
