Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer disables Xbox Live party chat
Its true Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward won't be allowing the use of the Xbox 360's party chat feature during ranked multiplayer playlists in its upcoming title. Since a distinction in the post is made between different styles of online matches (ranked and social), we have seen that function will not be utilized throughout all of Modern Warfare 2's online playlists.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling said the company "can't comment on leaks," and was unable to confirm if the feature will, in fact, be disabled. "Players should reserve judgment until they get a chance to experience it for themselves on November 10 instead of viewing it out of context," Bowling added. Have an opinion on the matter? yeah, ghetto said that you can get around this by joining the party chat while searching for a match or in a match lobby. But this still sucks, cause they will probably patch that.

i sure hope so... but this idea is just crap. I dont want to listen to some 8 year old scream at me in the lobbies because i pwnd him last match...

I wonder if they are cognizant of just how upset people are about this. The fact that 402 said that we won't comment on it leads me to think that they are in the middle of the "UH OH" process and trying to figure out how to reverse it. On every major gaming site online that even mentions MW2 there is a discussion about the disabled "Party Chat" function and the discussions are not favorable. I do hope that this is one of those times when the industry listens to the public. I'm sure that IW had the best intentions, but I do hope they re-think their plan.
