Treyarch’s Black Ops 2 will convince you to play online again

An interesting interview from Kotaku was posted earlier today which featured Treyarch’s Director of Communications John Rafacz.

He starts by explaining Boot Camp: “There are three components to it,” he explains. “There’s a thing we call boot camp.

“Boot Camp is a mix of human and AI players versus a mix of human and AI players for full XP credit for the first ten levels. You are actually ranking up. Beyond level 10, once you pass that threshold, you start earning half XP. Then there’s bot stomp which is just you and your buddies wailing on the AI.”

Rafacz goes onto to discuss why Black Ops 2′s matchmaking will deliver on what they have said:
“That’s what gave rise to the thing we’re calling league play. This is a more robust matchmaking system. On day one you start playing and after a short while it starts to rank you. This is where we start matching you with people of like skill. Hopefully someone new to the game won’t be matched up against a true master.”

Rafacz continues on how they try to ‘control players’ from being offensive:
“The ability to report players for offensive language, offensive emblems, all of that will be in place. There’s a certain extent to which we hope people will be able to police themselves, and there’s no way we can personally account for bad apples, so we try and give people the tools to help people help themselves.”

“We’re trying to make sure people are focusing toward a more co-operative style of game.”

I might just get a negative K.D on purpose like very low for when i play i can just go against the noobiest people ever.
And i dont care about K.D as you might notice.
Also im going to livestream with the new thing they added on Black Ops 2


The don't match you based on KD.. If they did then that would defeat the idea of this system.

Its so easy for someone to get a high KD, aka camping; or a low KD by purely sucking and not trying.

This idea of Treyarchs is a fantastic one. I'll prestige faster than ever because of my friends and my connection against bots. Rather than PvP shitty hosts.

Knicks i love the idea, of matching up players by skill, so i dont get stuck playing with no lifes and the kids who buy $500 headsets....


it is a good idea,now i can play with people who have a true kd(without camping) of 3+...also im just about to leave to go to the knicks game in the carrier dome.ps.the $500 headphones are 7.1 dolby vs $30 headphones which are 5.1,and theyre less of a difference than you would think...

Astro A50s are only $300 and they are pretty good for the price but you have to honestly look at it like this, so if you buy a huge tv so you can watch movies in really good definition trying to that movie theater experience you want a really good surround with it, it's the same thing for people who just want to experience their games better, I want a good set not to be better at playing the game but because I can almost the same feeling as being in a room with a good surround sound set up but with out my neighborhood hearing explosions and gun shots, etc..


this is true,but for most gamers its just the edge they want,ive tried px500s and to be honest not all that much better than the x12s,i havent tried the astros though.and also idk bout you guys but i cannot play on a big tv for some reason, i just suck on them.but on my 22in tv i play very well.
