Windows 8 getting 'late October' release

Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system will be launched to consumers in 'late October'.

So confirmed Tami Reller, corporate vice president of Windows, to partners attending Microsoft's worldwide partner conference in Toronto.
The OS will be released to manufacturing in the first week of August, and business users will get it around the same time, with those versions going out "as early as the beginning of August", according to MS (via ZDNet).

Video game support is expected to be a major part of the new OS, with MS having announced the integration of Xbox Live into the platform, and speculation that it may be capable of playing Xbox 360 games.

The Xbox Dashboard was based off of the Windows 8 Operating System. Its not too much like xbox, xbox is too much like Windows 8.

Windows 8 was made for tablets, Although it is PC compatible.

the layout is kind of silly looking... Why can't they stick to what all the previous Windows have looked like?

I have heard speculation about it playing 360 games. I wonder, if this is true, will you have to buy a compatible drive for it? If not, does that mean that we will be able to play burned games through it? I already have a decent collection of games that I have set back waiting to get the money up to flash my drive, but this would be a much better option, if so.

The deals on MS Shop says if you buy a Laptop or Computer between now and Jan 1, you can upgrade to Windows 8 for only $15.
Im still on XP so ill be ok with any type of upgrade...


Why pay $15 bucks when you can get it for free? Pirate life.lol :trollin:
