Rumor: Assassin's Creed 3 takes place during American Revolution

According to promotional art images snagged by a Best Buy employee, Ubisoft's next entry in the Assassin's Creed series will take place during the American Revolution. The image [via Kotaku] features an assassin in front of the original Continental flag.

The hero appears to be Native American, but it's unclear. According to the source, the supposed star of Assassin's Creed 3 carries a tomahawk in one of his his unseen hands.

Ubisoft had previously announced Assassin's Creed 3 was due to hit store shelves by the end of October.

This would be a great idea, i don't know how much i like the idea of an assassins creed in our times. The use of knives would become obscure and the game style would completely change with the introduction of semiautomatic rifles and MG's

sounds improbable. Desmond is supposed to be in the next few games. So he was based in our time not hundreds of years ago. Probably just a randomly made art they decided looked nice enough to show.

I hope this will be a good game. Assassins creed 2 is the best. Brotherhood and revelations were terrible in my opinion.

not sure if the game is going to be assassins creed like. although ill keep my hopes up as there are only few good games coming this year. (Halo4,Ghost recon, bioshock.)

Is this for real? Lol. Either way I can't wait. I find that the AC series is one of the best single player stories (imo).
