Modern Warfare 3 update addresses lag, certain glitches

Good news, soldiers: The multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has received its sixth title update since the game's launch; a patch which addresses lag and a number of glitches players have been exploiting for their own nefarious, personal gain. Gone are the days of melee-jumping, as well as clan tags which use the controller's symbols to spell dirty words. (Bal[LS] indeed, sir.)

A number of guns have also been tweaked (see: nerfed) as hotfixes introduced to the title. You can check out a full list of these readjusted armaments after the jump, and pray that your precious, precious firearm evaded the developers' all-seeing eye.

Title update: Additional improvements to address lag. Fix for Melee Jump. Clan Tag Validation (remove buttons from clan tags). Improve Host Migration logic. Prevent stat loss when player loses connection from server (internet pull / drop).

  • Fire rate normalization for Assault Rifles with undermounts
  • FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
  • Akimbo FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
  • Fix for Shotgun's with Extended Mags (Prevents them from shooting more pellets than intended)
  • Type95 Re-balancing (Nerf) - Reduce hipspread.
  • Fix for ACR with Red Dot / Shotgun
  • Fix Type 95 bug related to dropping it.
  • Fix map exploits on Dome

    Not the same, no. But to have one gun that is overpowered compared to all the others is ridiculous. It's easily the gun I get killed by the most, and normally in the most bullshit of a ways.
    It's the UMP45 of MW3.

    I'm going to have to agree with you the only nerf they did on the type 95 was make the hip fire spread slightly larger... which does nothing at all to counter is superior medium and far range abilities. Not to mention its still incredibly overpower close range, when rapid fire is attached.

    Ok, they did not nerf the Type 95, I got a 1 burst fire kill when I just now got on, I heard though that they slowed down how fast the burt was coming out of the gun. I don't know.

    FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)- Why nerf them, they have tons of recoil alone and IMO arent even strong at all by themselves, when I use them.

    Fix for Shotgun's with Extended Mags (Prevents them from shooting more pellets than intended) - shotguns are probably the worst guns of the game & now they want to ruin them even more? That sucks, but i'll still use the striker.

    Type95 Re-balancing (Nerf) - Reduce hipspread - Im not sure if they fixed everything, but I picked the Type95 up three times today and it took 3 bursts to kill someone from mid-long range(Enemies still got me in 1 burst), so I dont know if they nerfed damage, but I hope they did, but if they didnt, why? The MK14 is a semi-auto & I think it is fairly balanced, so why couldnt they have made the Type95 balanced(If they havent really already.

    thats the only problem with that gun i think. i dont use it but damn its powerful


    well the patch doesn't say it reduced the power and fire rate of the type 95 it just made it harder to get have a successful hip fire with it, and its not Overpowered, its just a great gun at mid-long range because that's what 3 round burst guns are supposed to be good at, close range the type-95 is easily beaten by: Shotguns, Sub machine guns, and even machine pistols.
    Oh not overpowered? Oh OK so i guess the FMG9s aren't overpowered as well right? A gun that has 55 damage and 1000 RPM per burst seems a bit much. It needs to be at least 40 damage and 700 RPM. The Type 95 is overpowered up close and starts to suck outside its 55 damage range then it becomes a 2 burst kill.

    I would like to see you take 3 bullets to the chest and not die. The damage of the gun doesn't matter if all 3 bullets hit.
    The Type 95 can kill with 2 bullets. The point is the maximum damage needs to be lowered.
    you cant say "i wanna see you take 3 bullets to the chest" or whatever it is bc this game is 99% non realistic, you heal is 20 seconds, and with assault rifles, you take like 7 shots, snipers sometimes just a flesh wound.
