Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Had the Biggest Launch in the Series

Since its launch last week, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is the best selling entry in the Assassin's Creed series.

In a press release from Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has had the biggest launch in the series’ history after releasing last week.

In addition to selling more copies than any Assassin’s Creed game in its first week, the game had the biggest PC launch for Ubisoft. The publisher has also released fun stats saying that users have cumulatively traveled four million kilometers. 1.8 million players have won at least one drinking game so far and over 3.5 million of the Orlog dice game have been won so far.

“We are truly delighted by the enthusiastic response from players and want to thank the fans for their incredible support,” said Julien Laferrière, producer on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. “Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams and it’s fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much. Launch is only the beginning and we have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will keep players immersed in their epic Viking saga for a long time to come.”




Earlier this week, It was revealed it was the best-selling game in the UK last week, beating out new releases like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. On top of high sales, it also had twice the amount of players as 2017’s Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Additionally, Ubisoft has detailed the content that’ll be a part of Valhalla’s season pass. Between now and summer 2021, we’ll get DLC expansions set in Ireland, Paris, and France on top of free seasonal content.
